Dr. Sumeet Dua is the Associate Vice President for Research and Partnerships, Max. P. & Robbie L. Watson Eminent Scholar Chair, and Professor of Computer Science at Louisiana Tech University (LA Tech). He provides leadership in formulating and executing strategies to grow and expand campus-wide research, grantsmanship, and collaboration activities in his current position. He also cultivates and leads the University’s partnerships with external federal, state, and corporate entities and other extramural stakeholders. He develops and implements approaches to leverage the research enterprise, academic programs, and other LA Tech assets to support its economic and workforce development mission. Before his current appointment, he was the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and the Director for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Technology programs at Louisiana Tech. He has co-authored/edited 5 books, including a textbook on Data Mining and Machine Learning in Cybersecurity published by CRC Press in 2011. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed publications, 34 research abstracts, and 9 book chapters, and has given over 80 keynote and other invited talks at national and international arenas. He has served on over 60 federal and international review panels for various scientific and accreditation agencies. He has served as an advisor for over 30 graduate dissertations and thesis. His current research interests include associative models for information fusion in multi-modality datasets, data mining, pattern tracking, anomaly detection, and content-based feature extraction for predictive analytics. His research has been funded by NSF, NIH, AFOSR, AFRL, NASA, and LA-BOR.
